Located in North Point Ferry Pier is a design and build initiative titled Styrofoam Compaction hub [ ] >[], a design solution to demonstrate the lesser-known recycling process of Styrofoam. It offers an educational experience to induce positive public behavioural change, increasing awareness on the often neglected subject of Styrofoam waste. By compacting the local styrofoam wastes 50 times of its original volume, we can reduce 98% of the transportation cost and carbon footprint. The compact styrofoam can be collected to the central processing centre much more efficiently for upcycling.
